Read all about it: ‘Newsies’ up next for Opera House Players

ENFIELD — The Opera House Players will present “Newsies” at the Enfield Annex (formerly Fermi High School), 124 N. Maple St., May 3 – 19 (Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.).
Tickets available by calling the box office at (860) 292-6068 or visiting www.operahouseplayers.org. Tickets: $23 (adults) and $19 (seniors, children under 12, students with valid I.D.). Group discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.
Set in turn-of-the century New York City, “Newsies” is the tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.”
When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike.
Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, this production of “Newsies” features dozens of local actors, with director Sharon FitzHenry, musical direction by Bill Martin, and choreography by Aileen Merino Terzi and Karen McMahon.
