SOMERS —  Somers Cub Scouts Pack 83 held its annual food drive April 13-14 at Geissler’s in Somers.

Residents and neighbors showed their support of the Cub Scouts and their goal of collecting food and cash for Champ’s Place, the food pantry at Somers Congregational Church.

The Cub Scouts were proud to deliver more than 600 food items and $850 to Champ’s Place following the drive. Doing service projects together is one way that Cub Scouts keep their promise “to help other people.”

While giving service, Scouts learn to work together with others and do something good for the community. The next event is a car wash fundraiser on May 5 at Somers Town Hall.

Somers Cub Scout Pack 83 is open to children in grades K-5 and can be reached at
