It Has Been An Honor To Serve You
This is my second and last Selectman’s Corner. The municipal elections are Nov. 5 and I am not seeking reelection as first selectman.
My last day of office will be Nov. 18. It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as your first selectman. I thank the skilled and committed town employees and dedicated volunteers on our boards and commissions, who give life, direction, and service to our community.
East Windsor was impacted from a storm the night of Oct. 16. Many trees were down, and some damage occurred. Power, the internet, cable and phone service were lost to many residents.
Public Works and Public Safety personnel responded to critical situations and East Windsor is recovered and back to normal. Thanks to all who participated in bringing East Windsor back online.
We have exciting things happening in town. The annual scarecrow contest continues at Town Hall until Nov. 15. The 20th annual East Windsor Veterans Day 5K Road Race is Nov. 9. The event commences at 9:15 a.m.; the race begins at 10 a.m. at Town Hall, 11 Rye St., Broad Brook. East Windsor High’s Homecoming/ Senior Night. events include girls soccer (5 p.m.) and boys soccer (7 p.m.) Nov. 1, and a girls flag football game Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
The Nov. 5 municipal election will bring a new administration to East Windsor. It will be a time of transition, during which we should communicate, listen to each other, and come together to set our direction, goals, and priorities.
