Four Town Fair gears up for its 181st installment!
The 181st edition of the annual Four Town Fair will take place Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 12-15, at the fairgrounds on Egypt Road.
The fair features livestock competitions, horse shows, horse, ox and doodlebug pull contests, and a wide range of entertainment options.
Ticket prices are: Thursday, $6; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, $10;
Weekend pass covering admission for all four days, $25;
Thursday and Friday, senior citizens, $5; Children 12 and under, free.
Plenty of free parking is also available.
Opening night, Sept. 12, runs from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Among the events on the fair’s first night schedule: The 23rd Annual Antique and Classic Car Show, 6 p.m. and the Class I Doodlebug Pull, 7 p.m.
Taking the main stage at 7 p.m. will be the high energy dance band Cover 2 Cover.
Gates will be open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.
The Beef Steer Show, youth and open classes, takes place in the Cattle Ring at 6 p.m. At 7, the Heaviest Pumpkin Contest take place in the Exhibit Building, while the Doodlebug Class II is also ongoing.
The Whiskey Rebels country band has the honors on the main stage from 7 to 11 p.m.
Saturday’s busy day begins with an 8 a.m. opening and runs through 11 p.m. The day includes the Fair Parade running from Main Street to the fairgrounds at 10 a.m.
From noon to 3 p.m. the blues and swing group Carl Ricci and 706 Union Ave. performs, with Aquanett, a 1980s tribute band, on the main stage from 7 p.m. until 11.
Sunday the fair is open from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Several competitions will be judged, there will be corn and pie eating contests, and the country band Frankie Justin performs from. 1 to 2 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m.
