The town budget is set at $60,738,684 for the 2019-20 fiscal year following the May 28 referendum. The vote was 431-361.
The budget includes $16,102,835 for general government, $2,727,603 for redemption of debt, $200,000 for the contingency fund, $39,576,224 for the Board of Education and $2,132,022 for the capital non-recurring fund.
The mill rate will be set at 32.6, a 0.9% increase. A mill represents $1 in tax for every $1,000 of assessed property value. A homeowner with a property assessed at $150,000 would pay $4,890 in taxes.
